The Orchid Garden Hotel and the Rotary Club jointly organised a Christmas luncheon for the special children of Pusat Ehsan and its staff. The event was held at the Goldiana Cafe in Orchid Garden. The children also received presents and stationeries presented by the past president of the Rotary Club, Yong Teck Chin.
The Empire Hotel and Country Club yesterday donated $5,000 to the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Orphans Funds.
The donation being an accumulation of $1 off every bill at the Atrium Cafe and Lobby Lounge during the Ramadhan and Aidilfitri promotion.
This promotion was also sponsored by Baiduri Bank, Kristal FM, Taka Jewellery, TMM Processing, Syarikat Teguh Mesra, Perusahaan Ala Hj Bolhassan and Man Food Sdn Bhd.
The annual charity bazaar, and the second of its kind, organised by Pusat Ehsan was held yesterday, drawing strong support from the public as well as sponsors.
The sponsors including hotels, embassies, restaurants and banks set up various booths and food stalls around the compound with every cent made donated to the Pusat Ehsan fund.
Children lined up for games at booths using coupons as currency for the day and there were also amateur magicians entertaining the crowd. Music was provided by local radio station Rangkaian Pelangi with the deejays interacting with the crowds.
Deputy Chairman of Pusat Ehsan’s Board of Trustee, Dato Paduka Alimin Abdul Wahab, was present to officiate the event.
The new Fitness Zone and Palm Garden Hotel had its opening ceremony on Sunday, 12 Aug, with owner Wu Zhun back from Taiwan for the event. Present to officiate the ceremony was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (R) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Awang Mohammad bin Haji Daud.

During the ceremony, Goh Kin Chiam, managing director of the new establishment and father of Taiwan-based hearthrob, presented a donation of B$10,000 to the Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah Funds for Orphans. On hand to receive the mock cheque was the CEO of the Fund, Dato Paduka Haji Ali Hashim.
